Why Grow Your Own?
Sun-warmed tomatoes, tender green beans, fresh salad greens - the taste, texture and variety of homegrown vegetables is far superior to anything available in the market. Growing your own means vegetables are picked when they are fully ripe and eaten in season, direct from the garden. As every chef knows, having the best quality produce in the right season is vital to eating well.

Growing your own is also good for the environment. It contributes to the greening of our city and greatly reduces the distance food travels from its source to the table. Understanding where food comes from and how it is produced allows us to make informed decisions about what we eat and serves to better connect us to our environment. “But when we drove into Le Paquis in the first shy sunlight, we shed our city clothes and bathed and put on dungarees again, and hurried down into the garden. We had been away too long.”
