Marta Teegen founded HOMEGROWN with the desire to convert lawns to edibles and to reconnect urban residents with the flavors and pleasures of homegrown food. Marta grew up on a farm in the Caribbean and is a trained Master Gardener and chef. She earned her BA at Columbia University and her MA at UCLA, then worked in politics and the nonprofit sector for seven years before finally pursuing her lifelong love of cooking and gardening.
